Smoke detectors work according to the principle of light diffusion caused by smoke particles present in the air. Detector task is gain automatic control; a micro controller calculates reading compensation in order to keep sensitivity constant during time rectifying possible increase in level caused by dust build-up inside analysis cell. Smoke detectors must be installed in places where there are not present draughts which might deflect the flow of particles generated by combustion and in places where normal activities being performed do not generate gaseous materials fires.
